PorovnajTo Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the PorovnajTo Chrome extension ("PorovnajTo", "the extension", "we") handles information when a user activates the extension on a product page.

1. Purpose of the extension

PorovnajTo helps users compare prices, find relevant new and second-hand offers, view available product reviews, save watched products, and locally track price changes for products they choose to inspect.

2. Information processed

Only after the user clicks the extension icon, PorovnajTo may read the following information from the currently active product page:

• product name, brand, model, SKU, MPN, GTIN or EAN;
• price, currency, product image and retailer name;
• aggregate rating and publicly displayed product reviews;
• the URL of the product page.

The extension does not continuously monitor browsing activity and does not read pages in the background. Access to the current page is initiated by the user.

3. Local storage

PorovnajTo uses chrome.storage.local to store watched products, product URLs, price history, and temporary caches of public price and review results. Price history is limited to the latest 90 recorded entries for each product. Review caches may contain up to 250 public reviews for a product. This information remains on the user's device and is not sent to a server operated by the developer.

4. Third-party services

When the user grants the relevant optional permissions, PorovnajTo sends a product name or model as a search query directly to supported third-party services in order to provide its comparison-shopping features. These services currently include Pricemania, Bazoš, Vinted, Alza and NAY.

The user may also choose to open searches on Heureka, Facebook Marketplace, Reddit or YouTube. These pages are opened only after a user action. The use of those services is governed by their respective privacy policies.

5. Data sharing and sale

PorovnajTo does not sell user data. It does not transfer user data for advertising, analytics, creditworthiness, lending, or any purpose unrelated to its comparison-shopping functionality. Search terms are transmitted only to the selected or supported shopping and review services as necessary to return requested results.

6. Analytics, advertising and accounts

The extension does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or developer-operated cookies. It does not require registration and does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, health information, authentication credentials or personal communications.

7. Security

All network requests initiated by the extension use HTTPS. The extension does not download or execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly. All executable code is included in the extension package.

8. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored information remains in the user's Chrome profile until the user removes a watched product, clears the extension's local storage, or uninstalls the extension. Cached price results expire automatically after a short period; review caches are refreshed periodically.

9. Limited use

Website content and browsing-related information are used only to provide and improve the user-facing comparison-shopping features described in the Chrome Web Store listing. They are not used or transferred for personalized advertising, unrelated purposes, creditworthiness, or lending.

10. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the extension's functionality or data practices change. The current version and its effective date will always be published on this page.
